Alarm clock (2005)

The premise of this project, from a product design class at The Art Center College of Design, was to reimagine the alarm clock. I chose to design an alarm clock for college students, who have inconsistent sleep schedules and often have a hard time getting up for 8am classes. Traditional alarm clocks are loud and obnoxious -- not very encouraging for sleep-deprived students. My alarm clock concept is sensory immersive, waking students up gently with a coffee scent, a blue light sunrise simulation, and the user's favorite music gradually increasing in volume.
